• Interview and Employment Suiting/Styling Program:

  Program Objective/Goals:

  • Goal 1: Provide participants with the personal and professional skills training necessary to obtain employment.
  • Goal 2: Prepare participants for employment by developing actionable career plans that reduce barriers to sustainable employment.
  • Goal 3: Increase participants' educational attainment by assessing clients' potential for educational enhancement.

  Inputs:

  • Partner agencies that serve women
  • Job seekers
  • Expert instructors and mentors (all volunteers)

  DFS Memphis' own Working Woman Career Center

  • Outreach and awareness-raising, including multi-tiered communications efforts pulling on word-of-mouth, referrals, speaking engagements, and fliers.

  Activities:

  • DFSM carries out the following activities in order to improve the basic skills and qualifications of participants:
  • Conduct six weekly training sessions.
  • Provide training modules, e-learning, and assessments to secure employment.
  • Partner with Workforce Development organizations so that participants can begin to establish professional networks and can begin to benefit from enhanced understanding of labor demands, occupational trends, technological advances, and workplace expectations
  • Address all issues that support participants' overall well-being through one-on-one time for questions and group question-and-answer sessions
  • Identify services and funding streams that align with DFS Memphis's efforts to ensure program sustainability and continued successful outcomes.
  • We will use the following data collection methods:

  o   Pre-Post Evaluation Assessment Tool

  o   Survey to identify participants’ skill sets and needs to accomplish goals

  o   Weekly Activity Logs

  o   Weekly Training Evaluation to identify how well information was received

  o   Mock Interview Evaluation

  o   Interview Skills Assessment

  o   Final Resume

   

  Projected Program Goals and Outcomes

   

  • Retaining employment: 80% of program completers will retain their jobs over the course of one year
  • Gaining upward mobility: 20% of program completers receive a promotion
  • Gaining a salary increase: 10% of program completers obtain a salary increase
  • Self-sufficiency indicators: 30% of participants achieve self-sufficiency indicators

  • Satisfaction/Presenter Surveys
