Dress for Success Memphis supports women 16 and older transitioning into the workforce. We work with over 500 females annually and provide essential and soft skills training and appropriate interview and work attire at no charge.
Career and professional development for women may have taken a back seat to the many demands and emergencies facing organizations in the pandemic era. When a woman gets a job interview or is hired, she might be challenged to have the appropriate attire for job interviews or work.
Dress for Success Memphis will provide an interview suit, and if she is hired, she will be provided with enough clothing and accessories for a week of employment. Since our area is a logistics and transportation hub, we provide the necessary work pants, skid-proof shoes, and a $25 gift card, which can assist with food or gas as she transitions into her new job. These resources are provided, all Free of Charge.
This project supports more than 900 women annually and provides them with the necessary support and resources to lift themselves out of poverty. Not only are clothes provided, but career skills are also made available to them through our on-site Working Women's Career Center and our Virtual Career Center.
