Nucleo is founded on a simple idea. We believe any child, from any background, should have the opportunity to learn music. Nucleo works with children and young people from all backgrounds, many of whom would have no ongoing music education without our free programme. By widening access to learning, our charity aims to benefit young people as individuals and ensures that diverse communities are given access to a high-quality ensemble-based musical education.

Now in our 10th year, approximately 400 children take part in our free programme, with teaching offered on 14 different types of instrument. So, whether their passion is for strings, wind, brass or percussion, there is something for everyone.

Your generosity has enabled each one of these 400 young musicians to be provided with a free, good-quality instrument which they use both at our programme and for at-home practice. You have also provided the means to maintain the condition of these instruments throughout the year. The cost of instruments and instrument repairs can be a barrier to access for many. By supporting this campaign you have helped to break down this barrier, ensuring that our young musicians don’t miss out on an opportunity to discover a passion, uncover a talent and forge new friendships.

We thank you for your support.

This year Nucleo is celebrating our 10-year anniversary. Looking back it is incredible to think that we started with just four aspiring young musicians in our orchestra. Today approximately 400 children take part in our free programme, with teaching offered on 14 different types of instrument. So whether their passion is for strings, wind, brass or percussion, there is something for everyone.

Your generosity has meant that each one of these 400 young musicians has been provided with a free, good-quality instrument. You have also provided the means to maintain the condition of these instruments throughout the year.

The cost of purchasing an instrument and paying for necessary accessories such as strings, reeds and rosins is sadly rising in line with the current rising living costs. If we weren’t able to provide these instruments for free then this cost could be a significant barrier to access for many. By supporting this campaign you have helped to break down this barrier, ensuring that our young musicians don’t miss out on an opportunity to discover a passion, uncover a talent and forge new friendships.

Thank you for helping us to use music to change children’s lives for the better.

An incredible 449 children and young people have been a part of Nucleo over the last academic year, and it’s been a huge privilege to help them all along their musical journeys.

At Nucleo, we deliver all our activities for free, including the provision of instruments. We provide tuition on 14 different types of instrument, so whether their passion is for strings, wind, brass or percussion, there is something for everyone.

Your generosity has meant that we have been able to provide all of our young musicians with a good quality instrument and afford to maintain it throughout the academic year. Each student is also able to take this instrument home with them so they can hone their skills through practise.

The cost of purchasing an instrument and paying for necessary accessories such as strings, reeds and rosins can be prohibitive for many families. This financial pressure is even more acute with the current rising living costs, with many families having to make difficult financial decisions. By supporting this campaign you have helped to break down this barrier to access, ensuring that our young musicians don’t miss out on an opportunity to discover a passion, uncover a talent and forge new friendships.

Thank you for helping us to use music to change children’s lives for the better.
