Thirteen Years On
In June, the lights went down at the iconic Cadogan Hall and our young musicians took to the stage to celebrate thirteen years of Nucleo. It was a night of brilliant performances and even bigger smiles, and a reminder of what happens when young people are given the chance to make music together. The orchestra on that stage didn’t appear overnight. It was built one lesson, one rehearsal and one instrument at a time. If you haven’t seen it already, you’ll find a short clip from our 13th anniversary concert below.
Welcoming 70 New Musicians
So far this term, we’ve welcomed 70 new children to Nucleo. For many, picking up an instrument for the first time is a moment they’ll never forget. From the cello to percussion to the trombone and many in between, each child has chosen an instrument to learn and make their own.
That choice matters. At Nucleo, we give children a voice from day one. We listen to them, trust them to make decisions, and help them grow in confidence until they’re proud of what they can do and know their ideas count. You can see some of our new starters showing off their chosen instruments in the video below.
And thanks to you, every one of those choices comes with an instrument to match.
An Instrument for Every Child
Every young musician who walks through our doors needs an instrument in their hands, and your support makes that possible. Some of our instruments have been played, loved and repaired by generation after generation of Nucleo students, and each one carries a little of every child who has learned on it.
An instrument isn’t just equipment. It’s what a child practises on, what they take pride in and what they carry onto the stage. Without one, a child can’t begin. Because of you, they can.
Thank You
Everything our young musicians achieve is possible because of people like you. Thank you for believing that every young person deserves the chance to make music, and for making sure that, when a child is ready to play, there’s an instrument waiting for them. We’ll keep you posted as the term goes on.
