This project will build a classroom block for primary school children in Chechiri a fairly new resettlement area. The area is far-away from social amenities like hospitals, schools and shops .This project will avail a safer and conducive learning environment for the children .Of late the nearest school to the area is East Range Primary which 7km away followed by Pfupi Primary which is 8.9 km away. Roads in-between are bushy and infested with snakes thus dangerous for kids.
Chechiri Primary has been in existence since 2016 and still lacks decent classroom blocks, teachers' accommodation and proper toilet facilities. It does not have furniture and the learners use poles as benches. Currently the school has 3 qualified teachers and an enrollment of 137 students from grade 0- 5 who are being exposed to harsh teaching and learning environments respectively.Children there are at risk of injury and other incidents if they are to travel to 7km to the nearest primary.
This project will provide a classroom block which is more conducive for the young learners by protecting them from harsh weather conditions and uncomfortable furniture. Its success will also increase the enrollment figures in the community and also increase the achievement levels for both students and teachers. It will also relieve the children from travelling long distances to access proper classrooms.
The Chechiri community will have a permanent classroom block for the primary school children. The current 137 learning in thatched structures will have decent classrooms which will have a positive impact on their long term access and performance in school.Classrooms will also bring about better working environment for teachers, making them more effective in teaching their students. There will also be increased access and increased enrollment rates. The distance travelled to school will be reduce
