In this exciting year 2024, APLAFA has achieved an extraordinary milestone through its Maternal and Infant Care in Panama Project. We have already benefited 3 courageous women with comprehensive prenatal care that makes a difference!
Imagine, these women come from the beautiful province of Chiriquí, located 445 kilometers from the vibrant city of Panama. And here's the most impactful part: 2 of them belong to the enriching Ngäbe Buglé ethnic group, one of the largest indigenous communities in Panama.
APLAFA's Maternal and Infant Care Project is the key to preventing maternal and child morbidity and mortality, tackling the most common barriers head-on: lack of access to prenatal care due to poverty and structural inequality.
But that's not all! Through this incredible project, APLAFA provides pregnant women with comprehensive care that embraces their needs and gives them the support they deserve. From HIV and other sexually transmitted infection tests to gynecological and prenatal check-ups, obstetric ultrasounds, general examinations, and, if necessary, nutritional counseling. We leave no stone unturned!
And when the long-awaited moment of childbirth arrives, APLAFA doesn't leave new mothers behind. We offer them long-acting contraceptives so they can choose the right time for their next pregnancy, always respecting their autonomy and well-being.
But our work doesn't stop there. We also provide quality pediatric care to newborns during their first three months of life, with general check-ups and early stimulation appointments if needed. Because every life is precious and deserves the best start.
However, our work cannot continue without your support. We need to join forces to reach more women, ensure that every pregnancy is safe, and provide them with the care they deserve. Your contribution can make a difference in the lives of these brave mothers and their precious babies.
Join us in this noble cause! Together, we can make sure that all women have access to safe motherhood. Your generosity can change lives and build a bright future for our communities.
Don't wait any longer! Make your donation today and be part of the change!
