We have done a parking lot donation drive and assisted Operation Airdrop in getting materials to be airdropped.
The majority of the items have been dropped in and around Asheville, Black Mountain and Swannanoa, NC.
A recent cold front has brought up the inquiry on cold weather clothing, for the higher elevation inhabitants and also the need for dry wood and charcoal to burn.
Lots of homes need tarp or wood to patch holes: even though the homes themselves are in dire need of major repair, they just want to block the elements out (wind, rain and dew), understanding that permanent help is months away in many cases.
NOTE: Unfortunately, those on our team who do rescue will be relocating to Tampa, FL tomorrow (October 9) for Hurricane Milton. This will leave two relief organizers on the groung in North Carolina until we can re-assess or bring on new team members while we figure out the needs in Florida.
This is a busy season and we are doing the best we can, and are appreciative of all of your support.
