By Curtis Drafton | Rescue Team Lead
The foothills of lower Asheville were the last accessible place last night for Rescue extraction, until more roads are cleared or temporary ones are created. So yesterday we focused on Brevard, Hendersonville and Fletcher.
We have extracted over 75 people so far, via our vehicles, and also responded to 10 S.O.S. calls.
Everyone in the immediate city, and some surrounding, have lost power, the ability to flush their toilets or run water, and are indesperate need of drinking water, food, medicine and clean clothes.
We have also given out our supply of gasoline (leaving enough for us to come out of the region back to a gas station 40 miles away).
People are in dire need.
The last of our team is making it back to Charlotte tonight. We need to build up supply and regroup for additoinal recovery and relief efforts, and we need your help.
Please consider supporting us and also consider spreading the word.
