Through partnerships with food manufacturers, grocery stores, restaurants, and farmers, we rescue food and deliver it to our network of agency partners, ensuring that nutritious food reaches those in need while keeping it out of landfills.
Last year, FAKH and its partners rescued and redistributed 5.4 million pounds of food, directly benefiting individuals facing
hunger in our community.
In the event that any of the food rescued is past its usefulness, we partner with local farmers that pick it up and feed it to their farm animals. Linked to this report is a video featuring one such relationship. Hodge Family Farms has benefitted by picking up produce that can no longer be distributed and feeding it to their chickens and hogs. The farm then brings eggs and meat back to the food bank for neighbors facing food insecurity.
Full circle partnerships like these are essential for reducing waste and helping our neighbors thrive!
