Learning becomes stronger in focused groups

The HRD conducted the following activities during the report period as a part of its mission to support and build resources in the field of rehabilitation

One day visit to Madurai to work out a plan of support  for the Shine School in assessment, programs plan and capacity building for its teachers. Vidya Sagar will support the organization through its community based rehabilitation program

A three day Continuous rehabilitation education program for practising special educators and therapist on Augmentative and Alternative communication for children with Cerebral palsy and multiple disabilities as conducted with the certification of the rehabilitation council of India. 28 professionals from various part of Tamil nadu and Kerala attended the training. Some staff of Vidya Sagar also participated in the training.

 

A three day training on Early Intervention and an assessment camp was conducted in various in the town of tiruchy and a neary by village. This was done to facilitate the setting up of Early intervention centre in the village.  8 community workers including parents of children with disabilities attended the training.

 

The department is also working at creating a training curriculum for a parent program titled “Demystifying therapy for young children with CP” with the therapy department

HRD is conducting a study on the I count training conducted in the month of May,. A study paper will brought out.

A training program on “ Working with Persons with CP” was conducted for staff and care givers of Balavihar training institute. This was a two day practical Workshop that addressed learning, communication, positioning, transfers, mobility and feeding and activities of daily living.
