Guarantee health services for LGBTIQ+ community

Each year, Fundación Huésped provides free care to 42,000 people across Argentina, offering counseling on HIV and sexual health, psychological support, legal assistance, and HIV and syphilis testing. Amidst an ongoing economic crisis, ensuring the continuity of these free services has become increasingly challenging. Thanks to the generous donations received through GlobalGiving, we have been able to sustain and expand our services.

Project Impact Since Joining GlobalGiving

• 10,500 cases attended in our personalized care centers.
• 2,500 individuals received legal support.
• 2,000 people accessed free psychological support, both individually and in group sessions.
• 800 individuals, including teachers and healthcare professionals, were trained through virtual and in-person courses on comprehensive sexual education (ESI).
• Over 6,000 condoms were distributed during public outreach events and at our care center.
• 2,000 free and rapid HIV and STI tests were conducted at our testing center.
  
  

World AIDS Day

Activities World AIDS Day is observed annually on December 1st to raise awareness about HIV/AIDS, support those living with the virus, and remember those who have passed away due to AIDS-related illnesses. Each year, Fundación Huésped organizes special activities in commemoration of this day, reinforcing our commitment to prevention, testing, and access to healthcare services.

Thanks to GlobalGiving donations, we successfully organized a community testing event on December 2nd at Retiro Station (San Martín train line). During this event, 88 individuals were tested, and a dedicated voluntary support circuit was provided for those who received positive results.

Additionally, we partnered with Farmacity to carry out a week-long testing initiative from December 2nd to 6th. During this campaign, 932 HIV tests were conducted across 15 Farmacity branches in Buenos Aires, using their in-store healthcare consultation rooms.

Looking ahead, the continued support from GlobalGiving donors enables us to maintain and expand our services, ensuring access to healthcare for vulnerable populations.
