Based on three pillars-prevention, science, and rights-the organization works towards a society free from stigma and discrimination, where health care is universal and public policies are grounded in scientific evidence. For 35 years, FH has addressed the growing demands and needs of vulnerable groups, focusing on the transgender population, LGBT community, women, migrants, and incarcerated individuals. The work is carried out throughout Argentina through collaboration with a variety of stakeholders. Partnering with local organizations and regional networks not only allows for tailoring interventions to specific contexts and needs but also amplifies the reach and impact of the actions. All programs are designed with an intersectional and human rights approach to ensure that individuals enjoy their rights, breaking down barriers of exclusion and marginalization, particularly in the areas of comprehensive health, freedom of expression, and democratic activism. The three pillars of Fundacion Huesped's work are: Prevention - FH ensures that HIV/AIDS, other transmissible diseases, vaccine-preventable diseases, and sexual and reproductive rights remain key topics on the public agenda. The organization provides integrated services that encompass structural, behavioral, and biomedical approaches within a combined prevention strategy: Structural Approach - Advocacy actions and support for public policy implementation to improve access to sexual and reproductive health, focusing on people living with HIV, women, gender minorities, youth, and vulnerable groups. Behavioral Approach - Counseling, psychological, and legal assistance from a risk and harm reduction perspective. FH promotes Comprehensive Sexual Education, peer integration spaces, and retention strategies within the health system, encouraging the role of peer navigators. Biomedical Approach - FH operates an HIV and sexually transmitted infections testing center, conducts community testing actions, and develops clinical and social research. It also advises and facilitates PrEP and PEP, supports evidence generation for self-testing, and decentralizes testing and treatment for key populations. Science - FH is a research center with an international human rights perspective, designing and conducting clinical, social, translational, and implementation studies to improve health and care processes and eliminate barriers to access. Rights - FH ensures individuals can make decisions about their sexual and reproductive lives with freedom, confidence, and security, free from stigma and discrimination. The organization offers free services to affected populations and engages in advocacy to drive changes in regulatory and public policy spaces aligned with its mission.
