At House of Hope, the children contribute in running the center. Maize is bought on the cob from farmers and the children shuck it for later use in posho (corn meal type substance), and morning porridge. Children dig crops in the gardens as part of Agriculture class, and carry the fresh fruit and vegetables back to the Orphanage for everyone to share.
The children wash their own clothes, drying them on lines in the sunshine. They make their beds every morning, help sort beans before meals, and of course clean the school.
At House of Hope, everyone contributes and works together to make the center a community home. With our love, hard work, dedication, and that from our donors- the hopeless are hopeful.
