Dear Supporter,
Thank you for your continuous support — and for standing with families who have lived through unimaginable hardship. Your generosity brings hope to people like one courageous mother and her three children, whose story we want to share with you today.
This mother’s early life was marked by deep trauma. As a very young child, she was abducted and forced into begging, exploited, and subjected to inhumane conditions. She worked at train stations, lived without protection, and endured what no child ever should. Eventually, kind strangers helped her escape, and she was placed in an orphanage at the age of seven, where she began to recover and rebuild her life.
As an adult, she longed for a safe and loving family of her own. Sadly, her marriage was marked by violence, and she made the brave decision to leave and protect her children. She now raises three children entirely on her own.
Life is incredibly hard. The family has faced poverty, hunger, and the terrifying reality of war. When sirens wail overhead, they take shelter in a cold cellar — a place that offers safety, but no comfort. It is especially difficult for the children at night, when the chill seeps in and sleep is scarce.
All three children attend school, and despite their fragile health and lack of proper nutrition, they are full of dreams. They love to sing and draw. They long not just for warmth and food — but for peace, and quiet skies.
Their mother does what she can. She takes on part-time work in the fields when it’s available, but the income is not enough to meet the family’s basic needs. Still, she holds onto hope.
The food, clothing, hygiene packages, and school supplies provided through your support are essential lifelines for this family. They help them carry on — not just physically, but emotionally. She is forever thankful to the kind people who are supporting her and her children through this difficult time.
Through your generosity, we are able to offer stability and care — and remind families like hers that they are not alone.
Thank you for helping us bring light into their world.
With deep appreciation,
ChildAid to Eastern Europe
