Give Care & Shelter to 70 Orphans in Delhi Yearly

Diya is approximately 2 years old. Her father does not stay with her. Her mother left Diya with a neighbor woman so that she could go to work. As told by the neighbor woman, Diya’s mother stopped coming back and is not traceable now. When an NGO found the child, she was critically ill and was highly malnourished. She was brought to Asharan for care and protection. She had to be hospitalized immediately. She had to have blood transfusion, IV antibiotics etc. to rescue her from death due to starvation. We hope that Diya (meaning 'lamp' ) would start shining again as India celebrates the festival of lights..

• A 5 years old girl child, Kajal had to have an open heart Surgery last week. The surgery was successful. Kajal is recovering with out any complications.
• Child Sahil has improved after seeing death, face to face. He is doing well with his adoptive family in US now.
• Child Pari had a small cyst in her brain but it had no bad impact on her. She is thriving and will be joining her adoptive family this week.
• Child Amit was sick when we saw him in September 1st week. He is back after a week of hospitalization, fully active and joyful. He has recovered from Pneumonia. 
• In the month of September, a newly born  child, Manvi (name changed) was lying in the rain in a park but was rescued by the public. She is growing up to be healthy with timely medical aid and care at Asharan.
• Another new born baby, Samira (name changed) was picked up from the bushes before the stray animals could reach her. She too is thriving.
• A seven years old boy, Kanchan was orphaned after the death of his parents. He has joined the Asharan family and is expecting to start his schooling.
• Eight of Asharan's children will be joining their school this week for the first time. We are still looking for support for their uniforms, books and transportation.

Stories of union with parents!

Recently, three year old Neha lost her father. She was staying with her mother Arti who is a victim of burn injuries due to cooking gas cylinder blast. Arti needed two months hospitalization due to an infection on her burns. Though Neha was kept under the care of a relative, she wandered away searching for her mother but fortunately ended up in Asharan. Neha had no clue about her mother and her relatives. Today she is reunited to her mother with the help of police, Child Welfare Committee and ‘Track the missing portal’.

Two years old Sahil is hospitalized due to a brain infection. His health conditions are critical. He was born prematurely and was abandoned at birth. He had clubfoot and developmental delay. A wonderful family with a beautiful heart has adopted him knowing his condition. They sit at his bed side waiting for him to be discharged from the hospital to take him to their home in US.

Asharan has cared for 22 orphaned children in this quarter with all your help. Among them, 5 children were adopted into loving families and 2 children were restored to their biological families. We are grateful to you for being there with these little ones who needed help in times of illness, loneliness, pain & despair.
