Project Overview

This project empowers women with disabilities in Pakistan by supporting home-based enterprises. It focuses on building entrepreneurial skills, providing resources, and enabling economic independence. The initiative fosters inclusion and improves the quality of life for these women and their families.

Progress Highlights

  1. Skills Training:

    • Conducted three training workshops on tailoring, handicrafts, and digital marketing, with 30 women actively participating.
    • Participants are showing promising skill development, with some already producing marketable items.
  2. Resource Provision:

    • Distributed essential starter kits, including sewing machines, raw materials, and basic tools to 10, enabling them to begin their enterprises at home.
  3. Income Generation:

    • Four women have successfully started selling their products locally and online, generating modest but meaningful income.
    • The project is building confidence and demonstrating the potential for scalability.
  4. Community Engagement:

    • Local community members and family members are increasingly supportive, helping women expand their networks and market reach.

Challenges & Mitigation

  • Limited Funds: The project requires additional funding to reach more beneficiaries and enhance resources.
  • Market Access: Addressing this through partnerships with local businesses and online platforms to showcase and sell products.

Next Steps

  • Expand training to more women with disabilities.
  • Strengthen market access through exhibitions and online marketplaces.
  • Establish a mentorship program for ongoing support and growth.
