Dear friends of FAWEZI
We hope we find you in good spirits.
FAWEZI as always is happy to give you a report on our progress since the last update shared in February 2023.
In our previous report we shared that FAWEZI will be looking to engage the Learner Welfare Departments under the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education (MoPSE) and the Guidance and Counseling teachers to identify girls who need financial support and will commit to supporting girls with tuition fees and examination fees for Ordinary and Advanced level. The selection was based on a school level needs assessment. .
We are happy to share that on the numerous requests for financial resource assistance through the MoPSE and teachers from girls and teen mothers we received, we were able to select seven and offer them support. It is our joy to report that the seven girls are now being supported and have had their tuition, for some and examination fees for all paid. These young girls from both Chitungwiza and Shamva districts in Zimbabwe are all doing Ordinary level and will sit for their final examinations in November this year. They are writing total subjects ranging from 8-10 individually.
We will continue to check on them and render any support within our means and we also urge you to persist in your support for our cause of assisting girls and teenage mothers who face the risk of dropping out of school.
We are happy and remain grateful for all the support we have received from you all under this project we continue to encourage you to share our request for support with potential donors as marginalized girls showcase their plight and need to remain in school as we continue to extend their request to you our friends. their request to you our friends.
