Many fishermen in Axim depend entirely on fishing to support their families, but damaged and broken boats have left many unable to work and earn income. Storms, rough sea conditions, and aging wooden boats continue to affect fishing activities in coastal communities. This project will provide boat repair support, replacement assistance, and fishing livelihood support for vulnerable fishermen in Axim.
Fishing is the main source of income for many families in Axim, yet many fishermen operate with damaged or unsafe boats that reduce productivity and increase safety risks at sea. Due to poverty and the high cost of repairs, many fishermen cannot afford to fix or replace broken boats. This affects household income, food security, and the well-being of fishing communities.
This project will support vulnerable fishermen in Axim with boat repairs, replacement materials, fishing equipment, and livelihood recovery assistance. Beneficiaries will also receive education on boat maintenance, fishing safety, and sustainable fishing practices to improve long-term productivity and reduce future losses.
This project will help fishermen restore their livelihoods, improve fishing productivity, and increase income for their families. It will strengthen food security, improve economic stability in coastal communities, and support safer and more sustainable fishing activities in Axim.
