Maama Africa the Voice Uganda’ received Shafic thought the local council 3years ago now. It wasn't long before a little boy dressed in some rather smelly clothes popped out from behind a truck with his hand out.

He was holding a bottle of the infamous glue that street children sniff to remain high, not quite so hungry and rather warm. This little fellow's name was sula. He was wearing two very dirty and torn jackets. It is rather cold at night and very warm during the day. He keeps the jackets on so he doesn't lose them for the evening cold sleep on the sidewalk or in street in different shelters..

This is not unusual. Each of the hundreds of children living on the streets has his or her own story to tell. Often these children have forgotten to tell a 100% truthful story, but Maama Africa intends to follow up on everything he told us and find the best way to help him. Shafic has been with us for 3 years. He is now over 11 and is in Class 3.

He missed a great deal of school before coming to us. He struggles as a student due to the lack of a solid foundation when young. He is a hard worker and very responsible. Rather quiet, he is always ready to lend a hand. Turn around and he will be there and say "Let me help you with that. ".

He is in love with automobiles, Radio mechanics and hopes we will be able to help him get his School done and mechanics dream. Shafic missed school because he was admitted but surprisingly after being discharged, he was given exams on request and he was the 3rd in class out of 47 students. Early in the year, a wonderful donor came along and assisted him to get his school fees paid, and renew the parts of his uniform that were no longer useable.

He now has a sponsor. He has four years more of primary school then takes his examination. He is hoping to take a degree in mechanics a course in university. One day we believe Shafic will be independent, employed and grateful. Thank you for considering this wonderful opportunity.
