Because of your giving, For Mama Africa the voice Uganda, 2016 is a year of extraordinary growth, change and challenges. The water project in Kosovo is operating, the volunteer staff are learning more, and the average age of the children we serve has increased, as has the length of stay and the level of care required. But even amidst dramatic change, we have been unwavering in our determination and our ability to meet the need presented by our clients and respond with appropriate solutions. We have maintained our focus on providing a supportive, safe and nurturing environment for our community’s most vulnerable children and young adults, even in the face of some immense challenges.

Our primary school and secondary school students are back at school and studying hard. This year, we have increased emphasis on math and science to help students gain the background and skills the workforce in Uganda seeks.

We believe in well-rounded education, including physical education. We're thrilled that thanks to some very special donors we have at long last been able to get the land safely fenced and we have farming ongoing and the water project the field will be enjoyed by children from the village and nearby schools as well.

On a related note, our children in candidate classes 2016 Primary 7, O-level and A-level are starting their mocks examinations soon and we ask you to pray for them!

We have partnered with different schools and teachers around the communities to help students with difficulties in understanding go to school. Every child deserves to go to school. We also have two schoolchildren with serious medical needs – Jovia is diagnosed with a chest infection that is said that she got it as a small child especially the time she never had anyone taking care of her, and a teenager Gloria is battling with HIV and cervical cancer any support to her will be highly appreciated. And on the outreach front, we are providing hoping so much to empower the community with economic skills and how to protect the environment. We can’t wait to see our funding proposal that we made to global giving getting through the entire community is aware and waiting.

We are also giving a report about the school of beauty that resumed this year, girls are doing so far so good and you will be able to see some of their pictures uploaded here. We still luck more Equipment’s to have the MAMA PEARL SCHOOL OF BEAUTY complete and fully installed so any donation will make allot of difference to the entire community.

You are making a difference!

Because of supporters like you, Mama Africa the voice Uganda has made tremendous educational impacts in Uganda. Through continuous investment over the last eight years, totaling over $40,000 here the impacts Mama Africa the voice Uganda has made:

Children have got Education
Increase district rankings based on improved test scores.

There has been a 72.1 percent improvement in child sponsorship the children that were not sponsored at the beginning of the year today have hope that they are going back to school. These are the students who are beneficiaries of Mama Africa the Voice Uganda and are now showing some of their advancement at the secondary level.
We are getting our holidays this week and please keep your children in prayer for safe travels those that are in boarding section and those that are in day section.

MAMA PEARL Hair dressing and beauty school project has resumed after 7 months closure because we never have space for the students so far 30 students have registered and are set to go .we have a few challenges about the Machines to use like Hair dryers and the chemicals to use for retouching Hair. We call you on Board to fund this project each hair dryer costs $200 and we need at least 3 of the so we call you upon to Empower women with skills and they will be able to sustain themselves.

Mama Africa the voice Uganda is truly thankful and encouraged by the impact made thus far. This would all not be possible if it weren’t for supporters like you. For supporters in globally we have two pending projects to Embark and complete. And we need you to come support the vision.

The water project is not completely funded but we have finished the excavation as Phase 1 and we are to do phase 2 that is providing the tank and plumbing. The school project is also pending as we are waiting on our engineers to repeat the School plan so it can be a stored meaning it will at the moment do or serve as a two in one Dormitories and a school until when God provides for the children’s home funding..

On Her Way - Thanks to You

Greetings and Happy New Year!
I am writing to share with you what your contributions to this project have accomplished. I wish to illustrate these accomplishments by sharing the life story on one child Jovia under Mama Africa the voice Uganda care, support and the hopeful impact she will have on future generations. Through your generosity, care and support, this one changed life will continue to bring life and hope to the next generation.

Jovia was orphaned at age two. Her Mother raised her until she was eight, when she was removed from school and placed in another home for child Labor.

At age Eight, Jovia was working the ground, digging from 6 in the morning until 1 in the afternoon. Then she had to collect firewood, carry water a great distance and prepare meals. She ate just one meal in a full day of physical hardship. This meal was her breakfast, lunch and dinner. She lacked access to soap, clean clothes, and a mattress to sleep on at night.

Jovia was beaten by her new caregivers, she lived in poverty. She felt abandoned and alone. Life seemed hopeless, until one day a lady walked into her village and noticed her condition. Before she came to help Jovia Escaped from that home took a bicycle and ended up to the local council where she was announced seeking for whoever knew her but no one did.
The Local council contacted Mama Africa and asked for rescue, Mama Africa took her through the entire rescue process and Rescued Jovia in a maternal sense and provided emotional care, education, and a safe place for her to be nurtured and education.
Jovia joined Mama Africa in 2012, when she was in Primary 2 Class. Today she is a strong, determined, hopeful, thankful, and capable 12 year-old, who desires to serve others. She is currently doing great in School. She is on her way to becoming a Pastor.

Jovia has journeyed through much difficulty and continues to move forward with determination. Mama Africa the voice Uganda, offered her hope and a road that leads to service in her community. She is a testimony of endurance and strength and a face of light and hope in a country facing continual adversity.
She says, "Mama Africa the voice Uganda has been my shelter and refuge to run to. They have stayed with me, always listened to me when I need someone to talk to, they have given me their time, cried when I cried, made me to laugh and put a smile on my face again."

Jovia's story is a success story. You can rejoice in knowing you helped write the chapters in this young girl’s life. Your donations are seeds sown into fertile ground, yielding a crop and a harvest that will impact lives today and tomorrow.
Thank you for giving so that children like Jovia can have hope. We give thanks to you, to the staff of Mama Africa the voice Uganda, and every heart that cries for change in a world that seems dark and hopeless.
