Rao Imran, a resident of an underserved locality in Karachi, was under pressure to gain employment and help his father support their family including his 8 siblings. To gain practical employable skills, he joined Aman Tech.
While vocational training is not a preferred route for many, some are eager to pursue a career in the technical field. “Vocational training enhances our problem solving skills. We come up with creative solutions to technical issues based on the knowledge and skills learnt. In our society, technical training is considered inferior and for those who could not do much in life. However, this is not true. These skills help us create an identity of our own.”
Rao Imran is enrolled in the 6-months Mechanical course at Aman Tech, and considers it a great opportunity to develop his skills. He finds that all the equipment and machinery used at Aman Tech is the same as those being used in industries which would be very helpful.
At Aman Tech we realize that imparting technical skills is not enough for the evolving world of today. “In addition to technical training, soft skills classes have developed the capability to think differently. “Alongside English and computer classes, the mind mapping exercises have proved to be extremely beneficial. I am now able to clearly draft a plan for the goals I want to achieve.”
After this course, he would like to pursue a job and study further as well to fulfil his dream of becoming a CnC programmer.
Aman Tech’s mission is to transform lives of the youth of Pakistan by providing them employable and soft skills, and empowering them and their communities. With support of donors such as yourself, we have been able to transform the lives of 13,900+ young men and women with a 65% placement rate. Help us increase this impact through your donations.
