Argentina was no exception and Covid-19 forced the government to declare a total lock down- that is still going- after more than 100 days. This situation means crisis in an already critic economic and social system, making inequalities even bigger and affecting those living in poverty even more than anyone else.
Our team worked harder than ever to find creative ways to connect and inspire our participants to navigate through these difficult times, kept in touch with all the families and evaluated their needs in order to step-up and help in ways we never did before by providing food and hygiene products.
Internet accessibility is completely challenging for our participants, very few of them have quality internet connections and devices, most of them share their families cell phones with the network provided by the phone carrier, so we needed to work virtually but adapting the fun activities that we created to the off- line world, so that it was something for the whole family to share.
This global crisis is forcing all of us to continue to be good at uncertainty, be creative and for those of us who are in a good place, help those around us. During this time we lost some permanent donors, but fortunately many other could help a little more, so that we could continue to make a positive impact in the community.
Thank you so much for your continuous support now and always, stay strong, stay safe and take care of your beloved ones and your community.
