Real size minesweeper- before coding it
It is a fresh year and a one full of surprises and excitement- we have planned many tech adventures for the year. Thanks to your generous donation we have bought new equipment that transforms any object into a key- putting creativity first as any object can become something completely new.
This year the group has some familiar faces that are participating in the activities for a second year and many new and curious members, who are math and quiz lovers. As well as developing creativity, and of course learning how to code, kids will learn how to collaborate and develop frustration management skills.

New Year, New Challenges
By Luz Amuchastegui | Youth Development Director

Another year came to an end and as usual we needed to celebrate all the acomplishments. We had a big party involving all of our programs participants, their families and our staff.
During the celebration, every program had their moment where they received a diploma and showed off what they had been doing during the year. When it came to our coders, they showed a brillant app they been working on, and made a display to play with the youngest members of our community.
The rest of our programs also had their moment during the day to show the results of the year and to have fun playing outside, feeling safe and owning their future!
The next couple of months will mean planing time for our staff as we prepare for an exiciting new year, full of new challenges and with many surprises to come. Stay tunned!

Coding and Company Visit
By Luz Amuchastegui | Youth Development Director

During the last month the kids where coding with an ideal user in mind. The purpose was that their code should help someone solve a problem they had. With that in mind they worked with different ideas and made a special visit to a software company.
During the visit to the company they had the opportunity to interact with coders that create different apps and systems. One of the highlights of the visit was when one of our host told us that they’ve created an app for taxi drivers- that one of our participants new- cause her dad used it as he is a taxi driver.
Among the questions that the kids made, one specially caught our attention, they asked the employees from the firm “How do they handle frustration when they are not allowed to do what they want?”
On another note, our Happy Cities Festival was a total success- two days of inspiration to share knowledge and exchange ideas on how to create a better city for all.
