This year we conduct two educational groups for adopted children from 10 to 14 years old.
In the one group classes teenagers develop social skills, communication skills and self-knowledge. Of particular interest to the children was the topic of power and control over themselves and other people. We all want to feel omnipotent! The guys experimented and studied how they manage their power and influence. It turned out that it is very difficult, because it is associated with responsibility. Here is the opening occurred in one of our sessions.
On the other half of our group formed a real Studio to create a movie! The group was joined by professionals: actors, directors and even makeup specialists. There was a place for graduates of our resource center, adult children who continue to communicate with us. In the classroom, the children learn to be real actors, to get used to the role, as the children themselves come up with scenarios for the future of the film. There is a place for every child, if someone does not want to be in the frame, it is possible to learn how to work with the camera and be an operator. The process of creating a movie is in full swing!
We are grateful to everyone who shows interest in our work and supports us. Your attention is very important. We will continue to share with you our successes and achievements of our guys!
Dear friends,
Our foundation develops services for adopted children for more than five years. Most of these children have learning difficulties or communication problems. But the most importantly, after many failures they lost their confidence. A child got used to be "looser" and that's kind of vicious circle. We can break this circle.
In a new school year we are starting a new project: Education Club for adopted children.
Our Club is not directly connected with school lessons, but we can give children joy of disocovery through education and to uncover and develop their inherent talents. It can be dog training or public speaking classes, crafts, cinema club etc. - anyway we're planning to attract the most enthusiastic experts.
We will show that "learning" is not equal "boring". We strongly believe that interesting subjects and friendly athmosphere help children to overcome the difficulties. That's the way to promote interest in education and to feel success and confident.
We have already held such classes last year and we became convinced that they can motivate children and enable them to improve their achievement levels. Now we are going to meet regulary ones or twice a week and of course we'll talk you about our progress!
The school year is coming to an end. This year was not easy for children to whom we help, including Nikita. But we are very glad that Nikita and his family coped with difficulties and achieved success. Nikita is the real hero!
Here's what his mom writes: "Thank you very much for your help! Nikita was transferred to the third grade this year. According to the results of certification - Russian language (Nikita doesn't wrote on paper, he types on computer because of motor function problems) at 4, Mathematics - 4, Reading - 4!!! That's awesome! I cried with happiness:)
Although the spring was very heavy and we spent a lot of time in hospital, we managed to avoid "breakdowns". To support Nikita I tried to take him away from school earlier and to give him much comfort. Of course, he was tired by the end of the year, but he did his best!"
For perseverance and commitment to the goal we gave Nikita a new school bag. (See picture.)
Nikita, as we have mentioned, is a lucky boy: at the age of 3 months he was adopted by a loving family. Nikita is 9 years old now and he is studying in a regular school. As an autistic child, Nikita requires psychological sessions, musical and motional therapy as well as help of a tutor. And thanks to your help, the family can afford these services.
Elena, Nikita's mother, said: «Because of your help Nikita is making a big progress. He became more confident and independent. We are so proud of him! God bless all the caring people who are helping us!”
