Project Report Update (Phase 1 Completion)

By Faisal Yaqoob | Founder, CEO

We are pleased to share that Phase 1 of this project has been completed, laying a strong foundation for empowering women from underserved communities in Pakistan.

Through this phase, Samaritan’s Fellowship Foundation focused on reviving traditional skills, providing practical training, and enabling women to transition into income-generating activities. The project has demonstrated that with the right support, women can move toward economic independence, dignity, and long-term stability.

Phase 1 Achievements

  • 490+ women supported through livelihood initiatives
  • 350+ individuals engaged in training and production activities
  • Revival and promotion of traditional Pakistani skills
  • Women successfully transitioned from training to basic income generation
  • Community-level acceptance and participation significantly improved

Key Activities Implemented

1. Skills Training (Traditional & Market-Oriented)

Women were trained in traditional Pakistani skills aligned with market demand, including:

  • Garment stitching and tailoring
  • Handcrafted product development
  • Basic small-scale production techniques

These skills were selected to ensure sustainability, cultural relevance, and income potential.

2. Livelihood & Business Support

Participants received support to begin earning through:

  • Provision of raw materials and basic tools
  • Guidance on production and quality improvement
  • Support in developing small, home-based income activities

3. Production & Engagement

Women actively participated in:

  • Producing garments (e.g., kurtas and everyday wear)
  • Creating handmade items using traditional techniques

This phase enabled many participants to move from learning → production → earning.

4. Community Mobilization

  • Strong relationships built within local communities
  • Increased participation of women in economic activities
  • Improved confidence and social inclusion

Impact Achieved

Economic Impact

  • Women began generating supplementary and, in some cases, consistent income
  • Reduced dependency on unstable income sources

Social Impact

  • Increased confidence, dignity, and self-reliance
  • Greater role of women in household decision-making
  • Positive shift in community attitudes toward women’s economic participation

Beneficiary Snapshot

Women who previously had limited or no income opportunities are now utilizing traditional skills to produce goods and contribute financially to their households. This transition reflects a meaningful step toward economic empowerment and long-term resilience.

Organizational Commitment

To ensure successful implementation, Samaritan’s Fellowship Foundation provided financial and operational support where needed, demonstrating a strong commitment to delivering results and maintaining continuity throughout the project phase.

Phase 2 – Scaling the Impact

Building on the success of Phase 1, the next phase will focus on:

  • Expanding livelihood opportunities to more women
  • Strengthening production systems
  • Improving access to markets (local and digital)
  • Enhancing income stability and growth

Closing Note

Phase 1 has clearly demonstrated that investing in women’s skills and livelihoods creates lasting impact. With continued support, this project is well-positioned to scale and empower even more women to achieve economic independence and dignity.
