Help 300 women achieve Economic Independence

We are pleased to share this final update on Help 300 Women Achieve Economic Independence. As reported in May 2026, Phase 1 supported more than 490 women through livelihood initiatives and engaged over 350 individuals in training and production activities. Women developed skills in tailoring, garment production, handicrafts, and home-based enterprise, enabling many to begin earning and contributing to their households.

Recent Livelihood Progress

During the latest reporting period, Samaritan’s Fellowship Foundation continued strengthening its livelihood approach through training, mentoring, and locally mobilized support.

• Eight families received training and support in candle-making and stitching.
• Women trained in candle-making obtained raw materials with our assistance and began producing candles for sale through local shops.
• Three young women are now stitching clothes from their homes for customers in their neighborhoods and surrounding village.
• Three young girls completed beautician training and jointly established a small barbershop. The shop is operational, and they are now earning a regular income.
• Five women received skin polishing and waxing training. Participants have since pursued different earning pathways and secured employment as waxing experts.

These experiences confirmed that vulnerable families benefit most when livelihood assistance is flexible and matched to their existing skills, local demand, and personal circumstances.

Building a Stronger Livelihood Model

Our staff also invested in professional capacity-building and stronger coordination with government departments and like-minded organizations. This has helped us improve beneficiary referrals, reduce duplication, access existing expertise, and connect families with wider public and community resources.

Based on the learning from this project, SFFP has decided to consolidate this initiative into our broader GlobalGiving project, “End Struggle. Help a Family Start a Small Business” (#76042). The expanded model supports not only product-based work but also tailoring, small shops, professional toolkits, transport-based livelihoods, poultry units, carts, and other income-generating opportunities suited to each family.

A Responsible Transition

This consolidation does not end our commitment to women’s economic empowerment. Women will remain a priority group within the expanded project. Bringing both initiatives together will reduce administrative duplication, focus available resources, and allow us to provide more practical and individualized livelihood support.
