In the deserts of Sindh, under a burning sun, feet on scorching sand, women walk 5-7 km to get a pitcher of water. Often, they find dry ponds or wells too deep to reach. When water is found, it is shared with animals and polluted with their urine and waste. Families drink it because there is no choice, and children fall sick. This project will drill four wells and install filtration systems to provide clean, safe drinking water, protecting health, reducing disease, and ensuring reliable access.
In Sindh's desert communities, there is no reliable access to clean drinking water. Women walk 5-7 km daily under extreme heat, often finding dry ponds or wells too deep to reach. The only available water is contaminated, shared with animals, and polluted with urine and waste. Families are forced to drink it because they have no alternative. This leads to widespread illness, especially among children, and keeps communities trapped in a cycle of poor health and hardship.
This project will provide clean, safe drinking water by drilling deep community wells and installing water filtration systems. These systems will convert contaminated water into safe drinking water, ensuring reliable access within the community. By bringing water closer to home, we will reduce the burden on women, protect families from disease, and create a sustainable source of safe water for daily use.
Access to clean water will reduce waterborne diseases and improve overall health. Women and children will save hours each day, allowing them to focus on education and livelihoods. Families will no longer depend on unsafe water sources, leading to stronger and more stable communities. Over time, this will create lasting improvements in health, dignity, and quality of life for future generations, building resilience, restoring hope, and strengthening entire communities for years to come.
