Many fishermen in coastal communities in Ghana depend entirely on fishing to support their families, but damaged fishing nets often prevent them from earning a stable income. Storms, flooding, and constant use at sea leave many vulnerable fishermen unable to afford replacement nets. This project will provide fishing nets and livelihood support for 150 low-income fishermen to help restore their source of income and improve household stability.
Fishing is the main source of livelihood for many coastal families, yet many fishermen work with damaged or worn-out nets that reduce their catch and income. Due to poverty and rising fishing equipment costs, many cannot afford to replace damaged nets. This affects food security, household income, and the well-being of fishing families.
This project will provide durable fishing nets and basic fishing support to 150 vulnerable fishermen in underserved coastal communities. Beneficiaries will also receive education on proper net maintenance, sustainable fishing practices, and income management to help improve long-term productivity and financial stability.
This project will help 150 fishermen restore their livelihoods, increase fish production, and improve income for their families. It will strengthen food security in fishing communities, reduce financial hardship, and support more sustainable and productive fishing activities.
