The first group of Faladje IDP Camp women have graduated from the Skills Training Program in sewing. Most of the women were accepted as interns by local sewing companies. After a 3 month internship they will either be employed by the companies or begin creating products that will be sold through their women’s cooperative. ATEG also hopes to have their products available to purchase in the U.S.
At this time of worldwide food shortages, ATEG is continuing their food distribution program at the camp. In addition to providing rice, during Ramadan we also gave them cooking oil to help with food preparations during this important time of the Muslim year.
Our clinic has a new head physician. He is expanding our outreach to schools in 5 additional regions. This will allow us to treat many more children. We have also increased their pharmaceutical supplies in order to better meet the needs of the people.
