Your help is providing awareness, care and treatment for Filariasis(LF) patients in India
Dear Friends,
Greetings from STEPS
During the month of March, STEPS provided LF patients required medicines and treatment. Thank you for your support to our program awareness, care and treatment for Filariasis(LF) patients. STEPS NGO continues to support people who were diagnosed with Lymphatic Filariasis.
We are very happy that Neeharika Tummala representative of Global Giving visited STEPS NGO on 19-02-2014.She interacted with the Filariasis patients and gave suggestions to our NGO for effective implementation of the program.
We would also like to share with you a case study.
J. Papamma, 72 years, a resident of 10/303 Salipeta slum in Gajendra nagar, Srikalahasti Municipality suffering with Filariasis since 7 years (Right leg). In the beginning she was reluctant for taking treatment. She is having belief that there are no medicines for the disease.
One day she visited the STEPS UHC for general health checkup. During that time she told to the Medical officer that she is suffering with Flariasis since7 years and she is not taking any treatment. UHC staff gave counseling to her and advised her to visit the UHC once in a month for checkups and treatment. All her misconceptions were cleared. Every month she is attending the Health Centre and taking treatment regularly. She expressed that she is feeling better now and there is no spreading of the disease.
Once again thanks for all donors for your continued support. We look forward to your support and suggestions on this report.
Thanks and regards,
Dr. P. Prameelamma
