Help Us to Reduce Malaria Risk Linked to Unsafe Wa

By Elizabeth Elachi | Project Leader

Dear partners,

In many communities across Northern Nigeria, limited access to safe water forces families to rely on open or stagnant sources. These environments increase mosquito breeding, and with it, the risk of malaria. For sickle cell children, malaria is especially dangerous because it rapidly destroys red blood cells and can trigger severe anemia.

A child who might recover quickly from malaria under normal circumstances often experiences prolonged weakness, repeated crises, and emergency hospital visits. Families living near unsafe water sources face constant exposure, and many cannot afford preventive tools such as treated nets or early diagnostic tests.

Your support helps us provide malaria prevention and treatment for sickle cell children. Donations help fund rapid testing, antimalarial medication, and community education on reducing exposure to unsafe water sources.

Thank you for helping us protect these children from one of the most serious infections they face.
