In August we shared with you that we had organised delivery of emergency aid for six of our villages where families face the awful threat of famine. Following the 100% success rate of our Pilot Project - delivering sorghum and millet, along with Kids Kitchen Kits of lentils, ground nuts and cooking oil - we are now very happy to say we have delivered aid to a further nine villages. To date 4,000 families, across 15 villages, have received food to eat now and seeds to plant for the coming year's crop harvest. Thank you so much for your continued support that helps make it possible for us to provide emergency aid when no one else is helping.
Our next step is to provide this same package of help to Ten more villages. We are now getting the details of all beneficiaries with children who are aged five and under - who face the most difficulties during a famine - so that we can provide Kids Kitchen Kits to these families, along with seed for planting for the next harvest. Whilst we are still finalising the details, we can confirm that it will be close to 5,000 children who will benefit across these ten villages. Please can you help us reach them?
Tuesday 3rd December is GivingTuesday - the perfect chance to make a difference as your donation will go even further! During this 24 hour period (EST), GlobalGiving will boost your donation. When you donate our most needed emergency item - a Sack of Seed for Planting - we will put the $$ boost that GlobalGiving donates on your behalf towards providing more emergency seed for families to plant for next year's harvest.
How does it work? Any donation with a value up to $1,800 USD per unique donor per project will receive a boost from GlobalGiving. The more donations that Kids for Kids projects receive, the larger the share of GlobalGiving Bonus Funds go to supporting families in Darfur! So please set a reminder in your calendars, and let all your friends know about this marvellous chance for their donations to go further simply by giving on this specific day!
And GivingTuesday of course marks the beginning of the Holiday Season! What better gift than a Kids for Kids Holiday Certificate, made personally for your loved ones! Can you imagine what you would prioritise as urgent for you and your family if you lived in Darfur? Is it a Kids Kitchen Kit for Emergency Food, a Goat, a Sack of Seed to plant for next year's harvest, Water for your Children, a Mosquito Net? What would you need? Please will you donate your choices, and you can send Gift Certificates right from the GlobalGiving website as you check out.
Bring joy to those you love and save the life of a child in Darfur. We thank you so much for your dedication and generosity towards families that are being forgotten. You are truly saving lives.
