Guahan Sustainable Culture’s farmer work center has expanded its services by promoting and sharing grant opportunities from the Guam Department of Agriculture and the USDA with farmers. In addition, we have staff available to assist farmers with their grant application questions.
Our farmer work center remains open during the week as a place for farmers to come and make use of our computers, printers, and knowledgeable team members. The work center was opened shortly after Super Typhoon Mawar to assist our farmers with completing their applications and uploading required documents and photos for the various disaster relief programs that were available to them.
Guam’s local fruit trees like soursop, breadfruit, and mango are in season and the trees have made a full recovery from Super Typhoon Mawar. The local breadfruit is used to make Lemmai (breadfruit) chips.
