New model of Christmas toy
Our 15 men had a little break during the hot summer season and meanwhile NAVA's volunteers made a campaign to collect corn husks as much as they can. We managed to collect about 3 big sacks of corn husks and dried them carefully in order to be ready for use.
Margarita, who makes beautiful dolls from corn husk, created some new models for our next season in the workshop. We decide to create Christmas toys and to promote them in www.madeforcause.com. This platform is one of NAVA's newborns and its main idea is to give opportunities for such groups to make sustainable profit through online sales. We believe that this way provides also easier access for Bulgarian community to support social initiatives through buying products made for a cause.
So, our new season just begins and we are so excited to make new products!

Corn husks now are used for making flowers as a decoration to summer hats and other accessories. Our 15 men are happy to assist in preparation.
NAVA also provided training for the team in St. Vratch – for the manager, psychologists, social workers and physiotherapists. The topic was related to positive change in teamwork. During a weekend the group had to discuss the challenges in their work and how to improve working environment for better results after almost an year running the project together. They also played a game for trust and participated in other learning-by-doing activities in order to become a better team.
We are still preparing flowers from corn husks and soon we will have ready-to-show-off hats and other summer accessories for sale.
NAVA is going to establish soon an online-platform which will provide a space to sale products made with a cause. That will give us an opportunity for better market and customer access as well as sustainable financing for current and future projects.

Springtime in St. Vratch
By Delyana Mihneva | Project Coordinator
![Martenitsa]()
Martenitsa
Springtime tend to be very busy for our 15 men. We created products for Bulgarian traditional holiday – Baba Marta /celebrated on March 1st /. We made beautiful martenitsa – made from white and red threads and corn husks.
After that we started to prepare products for Easter – small cute and fancy baskets and garlands. The funniest part was egg painting – men were very excited to combine different colors and materials with special technique – decoupage, and also to color eggs with marble paint – and the effect was just great. NAVA`s volunteers were an integral part of all activities and helped men in making the products.
We prepared presents for Easter - baskets with painted eggs it them and garlands also arranged with eggs. They were met with great interest and we sold them all to companies` and institutions` servants in Plovdiv and Sofia.
Our next idea is to make attractive products for summer but that will be a surprise. Stay tuned for more information soon!
