Caldarola is an Italian municipality which is still trying to recover after the serious damages caused by the earthquake that hit Central Italy in 2016. The aim of the project is that of supporting and promoting the rebirth of community life through the rebuilding of a center that can host activities, events, and workshops. Children and young people, in particular, will have a safe place where to meet and stay together, refinding hope and trust in their territory again.
Caldarola was hit by an earthquake in 2016, but the situation today remains critical, especially from a social point of view. The community lacks proper structures able to host moments of social aggregation and young people risk to incur in situations of marginalization and precariousness. They may also decide to leave Caldarola, leaving the municipality without a future. Therefore, the project will affect the whole community and young people especially.
The building of a multifunctional structure will help and promote the rebirth of community life. People will be encouraged to meet and gather together in a safe and friendly environment and to take part in events and workshops. Young people will have the chance to enjoy a safe place that can host fun activities and sports, regaining trust in their territory. Local Associations will be supported in these activities.
Caldarola will start to be a lively community. Those who left Caldarola after the earthquake will be encouraged to return to the municipality. Young people will be part of the community life rebirth, feeling that they belong to it and they will assure Caldarola a future and a continuity in the community life.
