Since its launch on GlobalGiving, the Girls4Goals Community Empowerment and Safe Spaces project has taken important early steps despite limited funding, with $150 raised so far toward the $50,000 goal. This initial support has enabled the Foundation to begin community engagement and planning activities, laying the groundwork for programme delivery focused on safe spaces, football sessions, and life skills development for young people.
During this period, the team has prioritised outreach to schools and community stakeholders, identifying participants and preparing structured weekly sessions that integrate health education, gender equality discussions, and environmental awareness. Football remains central to the approach, providing an inclusive platform to engage young people while building confidence, teamwork, and leadership skills, which are widely recognised as key outcomes of sport-based development programmes.
Although funding remains at an early stage, the project is already building momentum through partnerships and community-level coordination. These foundational steps ensure that once additional resources are secured, implementation can scale quickly to reach the targeted beneficiaries, creating safe, supportive environments where young people can learn, grow, and actively contribute to their communities.
