Since our last update, Girls4Goals has kept moving forward, even though funding on GlobalGiving remains limited, with 151 US dollars raised so far. Thanks to the early supporters who made those first steps possible, the programme has been able to move from planning into delivery, running football sessions, mentorship and life-skills activities directly with girls across the rural Bono, Bono East and Ahafo Regions. We want to be honest that a shortage of funding and resources has meant working at a smaller scale than we would like. Even so, the team has kept the programme alive and reaching girls. So far this year we have engaged around half the number we reached in our strongest year, roughly 300 girls across seven communities, with retention holding strong as girls keep returning to a space where they feel safe and supported. Alongside football and mentorship, they have taken part in menstrual-health and gender-equality sessions and in environmental action, planting close to 500 trees. For many of these girls, the weekly session is the one place they are coached, genuinely listened to and encouraged to lead, and that confidence carries into the classroom and the home. Local coaches and older-girl mentors keep the work rooted in the community, which is how the programme keeps going even when resources are stretched. With more support we can widen our reach again and steady the menstrual-hygiene support so that fewer girls miss school during their periods. On GlobalGiving, a gift of 40 US dollars provides a girl with hygiene materials and life-skills support for a month, 90 US dollars equips a girl for a full season of training and mentorship, and 200 US dollars helps train a community coach. Every gift helps us turn steady progress into lasting change for girls in rural Ghana. Thank you for standing with them.
