Every child deserves access to clean drinking water, especially those living in extreme heat. Life is generally tough for the children of northern Siargao Island in The Philippines - with hazardous weather conditions, far distance to school, and limited access to healthy food. Safe water is one of the needs we aim to help with, distributed for free in each classroom - helping hundreds of children daily!
With increasing temperature due to global warming Siargao Island has become an almost unbearable place to live for it's residents. That in combination with the fact that access to truly safe, tested drinking water is limited, and expensive makes our Water Refill Station project life saving.
Since 2022 Nature Kids of Siargao' has offered free drinking water to all 5000 households of Burgos. Our advance Reverse Osmosis system has the capacity to create 2,000 liter daily. To ensure 100% safe water we work closely with Department of Health, testing our source water and finish product on a regular basis.
Ensuring unlimited access to drinking water in each classroom have major health benefits for all students and personell spending an average of 10 hours daily onsite. As per regular practice the teacher herself needs to cover the costs for drinking water in her own classroom making it a heavy burden to carry as an average salary of a teacher is just above poverty level in The Philippines.
