Our effort during this reporting period involved with ODOV project staff continued to provide follow-up field visits for coaching and mentoring to the target households. A total of 50 target households (32 women) benefited from the staff's extension. These households received success in vegetable cultivation and poultry raising. Through, growing vegetables and raising poultry, these households have accessed to nutritious food for their daily household's consumption and they also earn extra income from selling the surplus food from their own produced.
The information have been collected from the target households confirmed that within the last four months, the target households produced 25,300kg of vegetables. Out of 5,570 kg consumed by the households and remaining 19,730kg of vegetables were sold to local markets and they received an income of $9,865. In addition to this, the households also produced 925kg of chicken meats. Out of 550kg chicken meats were consumed and the 375kg of chicken meats were sold and received an income of $1,780.On an average, each household was able to receive $233 additional income from selling vegetables and chickens within the last four months. These households still continue to grow vegetables and raise chickens to improve their livelihoods. On average, each household grow at least five variety of vegetates and raised 15 hens, three rosters, 37 adult chickens and 73 chicks.
