 FIRST AID TRAINING: It is very important to protect the lives during the disaster such as major accidents, big riots, Road accidents, Fire accidents, Excessive flood, Cyclone destructions. During that occasion it is very important to protect aged people, small children and conceived mothers. During the time of disaster people are much concerned about protecting themselves their possessions or articles or their family members. Therefore it is essential to find the aged people, small children and conceived mothers and protect them as an emergency action. Before that they must plan accordingly create the safety measures and protect them carefully or before the occurrence of heavy rain and excess of flood ‘’Fore warning’’ Announcement can be made. People must take the necessary materials such as water bottles, Torch, important certificates and important articles to be taken with them carry safety and reach the temple, shrine or marriage halls or to the well protected place people must go. In that manner announcement shall be made. Recovery team must be formed well and they can provide First Aid service to the victims who are in serious loss will happen. Usually these defects are met by many women than men. Therefore this training was offered to women to protect themselves during the time of disaster and protect other. Especially the First Aid Training was provided to them.An emergency treatment which is provided for the person who met the sudden accident usually these of accident or disaster victims would have the suffocation, Hemorrhage, unconsciousness, shock, firing accident etc. During the above said occasions First Aid Help is provided. Before providing this First Aid Treatment we must have the sharp listening, clear mind, knowledge, talent, self confidence. In addition to this the First Aid volunteer must have the talent of handling the emergency time, Reduction of shock, reducing fear, passing the message for emergency help, clear knowledge about the disaster affected person. Being based on these points the volunteer must work actively.Saving the life, speed up the removal of disease, Block the condition of patients’ position becoming worse – for these purpose First Aid Helps are provided. In some occasions of emergency, if there are many persons who know what shall we do? They can save many lives. Even the village people and school going children also can do this life saving First Aid Help to many. When the disaster affected person near the breathing stoppage condition we must bend the affected person back. If we do so the passage between the lungs and mouth would open. At the same time we must lift up the lower jaw of the affected person. Even through we do so, if the breathing is not begun artificial respiration shall be provided to that person. We must make a deep in hale and breathe that air into the nostrils or mouth of the unconscious person. During that occasion we must close one of his nostrils. Until the affected person comes to the normal breathing condition we must do this again and again. We must check if the pulse rate of the disaster affected person is normal by keeping our fingers upon the left hand wrist. This pulse rate can be checked at the joints of hand.  Neck portion, temple of the fore head, and top portion of the centre head. If the pulse rate is formed not normal he /she can be keep our left and straight. Then we must keep our left hand upon the lowest part of the lost chest bone and keep our right hand upon our left hand, press well. If we give pressure to the heart again and again the heart beat will come to the normal condition. If one who is at the risk has much bleeding he/she may lose his/her life. We must stop the bleeding. A good method to do this is we must keeper   palm straight upon the jury and must be pressed well, or the both ends of the injury must be held tightly. If the bleeding as found on the leg portion we must make straight the bleeding portion. 

 MAKING BANDAGE:  Bandage making is done to control the bleeding to give pressure above the piece of cloth which is upon the injury, to keep the wooden sticks or scales in the remained condition, and for providing the basic support to the hand or leg bones or knees to avoid the movements, to avoid the swelling, to lift up or carry the person who met the accident it would be comfortable also. If a person has the head injury and having the much bleeding or being injured at any other body part circle shaped rolling bandage i.e ordinary bandage is made. If a person has much bleeding from his head injury if we press well that portion or by cleaning with the clean and fine wet cloth and making the tight bandage we can stop the bleeding. If a person has fracture on his hand or leg to make the person to feel easy we must keep two flat sticks upon and bottom of the fracture so the bones will not move here and there for supporting the position of the bonds tight bandage shall be made. It is also helpful to carry person and get relief from the pain. After making the bandage at hand portion again another strip of cloth is tied along with the affected persons neck and hand. In this arrangement, hand will be beside his chest. If any injury or swetting is found on the hand this hanging type knot is made. In order to limit the movements also this type of knot is helpful. This type of knot is made during the occasion of waist bone fracture and also for the fore hand bone fracture. If we make the bandage in the above said manner finger tips only shall be seen out ward. Hand should be completely supported by the knot. This type of cradle like hanging can be made from whatever the clothing we have. For example coat or the short of the person who met the accident can be taken. That garments lower portion can be cut off longitudinally and a knot can be made surrounding the neck and fore hand with he help of muffler or shawl of a chudithar or tie etc. Any type of cloth can be used like this. This type of knots can be made by women themselves and they shall provide First Aid Treatment to the victims of the disaster. For that purpose, the First Aid Training was provided by the Trainers to the participants of the Training Programme. In this manner affected persons shall be provided the First Aid in a safe manner and he/ she can be carried to the Ambulance or hospital is in sitting position he can be seated on a chair and four persons may hold the four legs of the chair and they can carry him/her to the Ambulance or nearby hospital. If there are only two persons they can join their hands with each other and can make a chair like formation. In this manner they can carry the patient. If there is only are person for help, the affected persons feet may be kept up on our feet and we can bear his weight, his hands may be kept up on our shoulders. Without hands we can hold his hip and we can move forward or we can bear the disaster affected we can bear the disaster affected person up on our shoulder or back. If the affected person is in the laying condition we can make him lie upon a thick saree or thick dhoti or up on a bench or cot, we can easily carry him without any problem. When we carry the disaster affected person with the help of saree or Bed sheet it would make a pit like an arrangement in the midst of saree or Bed sheet. It would cause inconvenience to the affected person. When the disaster affected victim is laid up on the Bed sheet or Saree or Dhoti on the length wise edges we can keep a long had or stick to a certain distance and four persons can carry the patient by holding the edges of the clothing easily and also in a protected manner to the Ambulance or to the near by hospital. In this manner, training was offered to the participated beneficiaries with the practical demonstration. POLICE DEPT: As soon as the Flood Disaster Announcement is made, the police staff will arrive at the place to move and guide the disaster affected people to the places of protection community in the affected area must give their full co – operation. People should not be afraid. When they move to the protected places they must carry the important materials such as family card, certificates, Patta & property documents Aadhar cards, Pan Cards etc. Also they must do as police dep’t gives the instruction to them. 

RECOVERY TEAM: During the time of disaster Recovery Team would be in prepared condition in ahead of time. They would protect the people those who drown into when we join the stove and gas cylinder we must check the condition of the washer also. If we do so properly, we can avoid the great disaster and risks.

DRINKING WATER CONSERVATION: Flood disaster is happens in Chennai districts a lot. Most of the slum areas are affected in the flood disaster. The victims cannot able to refurnish (or) regenerate their lifestyle to the normal condition. Mostly their work and places are affected a lot and they stayed in school buildings, Marriage hall (or) any community hall for a day water and food. We have chosen those victims and give then training regarding flood disaster response how to safeguard then from the upcoming disaster activities how to find out the flood disaster symptoms. In flood disaster response a major part of our drinking water is affected a lot. So we trained the victims to prevent the Drinking water and how to save, use the Drinking water is an essential part in our life. We cannot live without drinking water in this earth. Water is nowadays becoming a deficiency part in our life. Due to flood response our drinking water will mix with so many wastes such as plastic, human wastes, pipes, and Industrial wastes. In flood (or) rainy season our water will mixed with these wastes. So we boil the water well and then filter it with a cloth and then we can able to use it bacteria’s will die completely in this water. Rain water is the purest water. Thus we explained about drinking water conservation.

ANALYSIS USING FWTK: In the particular slum area we demonstrate the Metro –Corporation water using our tool kit. In our normal water there are 12 types of components are present in it every component is so useful and necessary for our human being water represents as H2o in water one oxygen and two hydrogen presents here there are 12 types components in that components we describe there 2 (or) 3 tests. Alkalinity is the basic substance present in water measuring alkalinity test is important in finding the ability to neutralize acidic pollution from rainfall (or) waste water. The Alkalinity in clued hydroxide, phosphate etc

USING FWTK: TESTING ALKALINITY

-         Taking 20ml of water sample to test Alkalinity present in it.

-         Mix the water in a Jar

-         Add 5 drops of ‘A1’ Fluid to find the test. In this first process. The colour changes to ‘’blue colour’’.

-         Add 1 ml of ‘A’2 FLUID BY USING 1Ml syringe to add in the water sample where the colour changed already into blue colour ass drop by drop A2 fluid in to it.

-         Finally the water sample colour gives in red (or) yellow.

-         This is the kit used for analyzing the water sample and the 12 components are all presented in this metro water at the accurate level.

TESTING FLUORIDE: Fluoride is a component which is normally presented as enamel in our human beings teeth.

-         Fluoride is a cementing substance of our teeth.

-         When the fluoride is too low (or) no fluoride present in teeth. Then our teeth has occur irrational sensation problem.

-         Pulp cavities occur in our teeth.

-         Nerves and Blood vessels of our human teeth will be visible if there is No (or) less fluoride in our teeth.

-         Add 5 drops of ‘F’ fluid in it

-         Finally shake the substance for 2 minutes. It wills gives 1.0 value of light color rose will obtained. Thus the fluoride test is demonstrated to them.

PROJECT SITE:THIDIR NAGAR,SAIDAPET.

 FIRST AID TECHNIQUE: For the people who are living in this area Thideer Nagar, Organizations GlobalGiving and Chevalier Roche Society provided the Training on Flood Disaster Management Awareness along with the necessary explanation and practical demonstration. In most of the places when a disaster Because of the necessary explanation and practical demonstration. In most of the places when a disaster is occurred mostly women are affected than men because of the fear and abandoned condition many women usually die during any disaster this must be noted and necessary action shall be taken to protect women. In many occasions because of the shyness women have lost their lives still in many occasions they are troubling much. In major accident occurred areas men have protected themselves and protected others also as many women have lost their lives if they are entangled in a critical position usually they feel shy to reveal their critical circumstance. That is why they meet many sufferings. As women did not content any other person, many women have lost their lives. Therefore it is necessary to provide First Aid Training to women. If they have such Training and experience, they can protect their parents, family members and also themselves. Having this idea in our mind we provided the First Aid Training Programme for the women in this Thideer Nagar area. First Aid is the emergency help with medication, at the spot of accident to be provided to the injured person or persons. In this situation what ever the articles we have and the medicines whatever we have. At first we must know clearly the affected persons physical condition. One who provided the first Aid Treatment must be courageous and self confident. Actually one who knows the First Aid Treatment must provide courage and counseling to the affected person. Following that we must know the physical condition disaster affected person we must check his pulse rate. This pulse rate must be checked with our fingers keeping at the affected persons pulse. Also we can check the pulse at joint place of hand, neck portion, temple portion of the forehead and chest portion, nostrils etc. Then we must check the breathing condition of the victim by keeping our fingers near his / her nostrils and find if he / she are normal breathing condition. If the victim is found not having the regular breathing and pulse   beat, we must arrange the victim to lay flat pull his / her head backward and make the respiratory passage straight. Following this we must touch the left side last waist rib by our left hand – and keep our right hand upon that and apply some pressure upon that portion and provide some pressure to the heart. If we do so properly we can make the breathing and pulse beat normal.Also we must check if there is any injury or hurt in the victims body or bleeding is found, at first we must control the bleeding the affected person. To stop the bleeding of the victim we must hold tightly with our fingers. Then we must wipe with the help of a wet cloth and give, give some pressure. And following that we must make a tight bandage by rolling the cloth tightly If we do so Hemorrhage well be stopped. If any persons fracture in his / her heard or leg we must keep those bones straight, so that those fractured bones will not scratch with each other. Then we must keep a flat wooden piece or 1ft scale upon the fracture and below the fracture and make a tight bandage surrounding them. This bandage the injured leg or hand should not moved here and there. Then make a cradle like arrangement shall be made surrounding the victim’s neck and the injured hand. Certainly it would   be much helpful for the victim. Soon he would recover him / she would not feel much pain and would feel comfortable. When the person who got the First Aid Help is in the conscious condition and he is able to sit we can  take him to the hospital with the help of a chair and 4 persons, if there we 2 persons only to help him we can make a stretcher like arrangement. If there are four persons on the spot they can help to carry the disaster affected person with the help of a chair cot or bench they can carry him safety in the sitting position or laying condition. When he is laid on the cot or bench, he must be tied with the cot or bench so that he would not fall down. When the victim is carried by a cot bed 4 person can hold each leg of the cot or bench. When there are only two persons for help they carry a affected person by joining their (Volunteers) hands with each other like an anchor and they can make a chair like formation and the affected person can be seated upon that and he may be carried easily with the help of only 2 volunteers. When there is only one person at spot of disaster affected  area he can be carried upon our back or shoulders by asking him to keep his hands up on our shoulders. In another way also we can help him to move from one place to another. We shall ask him to keep his feet upon our feet and ask him to join his hands surrounding our neck upon our shoulders. We must hold his hip firmly with our hands. Following this arrangement if we move step by step gently he can be moved to the necessary place with our efforts. If a disaster affected person is in the condition unable to walk we can spread a saree, or dhoti or a bed sheet upon the floor, both the sides we must keep a long or strong stick and roll up the cloth to some extent along with the sticks longitudinally that arrangement will come to a stretcher like formation and upon that we can ask the affected person to lay and two persons can carry him / her easily. The persons who carry this stretcher like arrangement must look the same direction both of the volunteers must hold the ends of the pulse on both the sides. In this manner they can carry a disaster affected person from a low lying area to a high place or from a high place to a low lying area. All these were performed in front of the people in this area along with practical demonstration.   

DRINKING WATER CONSERVATION: Man’s basic needs are three. They are food, dress and shelter. Of which man can live even without food for a few days. But he can’t live without drinking water. We get drinking water from wells, rivers, ponds lakes etc. In the beginning water used was not purified. That is why many diseases were spread. In the earlier years there was no water famine because people did not destroy the forests so rain fell properly during the rainy season. During the present days forests are destroyed. That is why the seasonal rain is failed. Water scarcity is found. As the measure of rain fall is decreasing day by day ground water level is also decreasing. Industrial wastes released from industries are wastes released from industries are filled with plastic and chemical wastes. Therefore the ground water is polluted. If this situation continues, some countries including India would meet the drought condition without drinking water. U.N.O has made this announcement. In India instead of drinking water people use well water for their drinking purpose. This bad situation still continues here. Indian water Resource Research Group made an evaluation about water Resources in India and announced the results as above. In many states people travel from 3-5 km and get the drinking water for them. After the independence of our Nation thousands of dams have been constructed in India. Even it is so 90% agricultural lands, town areas and village areas have not been benefited still. If this situation continues so, in the future there will be a situation in India to have war for water. Indian water Resource Research Team has said so. Even through in Tamilnadu there are many dams, we are unable to manage the drinking water problem. It is a great problem that there is the Cauvery water dispute is between Tamil Nadu and Karnataka states. Like wise we have another dispute about Mullai Periyar Dam problem with the Kerala state. Still in some districts such as Ramanathapuram, Virudhu Nagar,Thoothukudi and Chennai districts except the rainy season. People are suffering much of this drinking water problem people are travelling a long distance to get the dirking water for them. It is a great hardship to a large number of people. That drinking water is also not enough for them. At the same time it is not pure recently a great drinking water problem was occurred in Chennai. By so many emergency actions, this problem was solved to some extent. Season rain fall measure is also very small. Because of this reason so many wells dried off. Sometimes water supply is stopped up to a period of 10 days due to the motor repair, Pipe line repair etc. As an average a person needs 90ltr. Water per day now days it is hard even to get 20 Ltrs Quantity of water. If a man drinks enough quantity of water it purifies his body properly, strengthens his intestine. Therefore drinking water is a necessary material of the humanity. As it is not received literality it spoils the health of human.      

WATER TESTING USING WATER KIT:

TESTING PH :

            PH means a measure of activity the H2 ion (H+) is reported as the reciprocal of the logarithm of h2 ion activity water contains 0% acidic substance 7% natural substance 14% basic substance. In water when the PH value is greater than 7 it is considered as acidic. The normal range of water of PH is 6.5 to 8.5 Testing PH value

-                           In general the water consists of PH value below (or) equal to 6.5

-                          Take 1 drop of sample water in an Ink pillar.

-                          Drop the water drop upon the PH sheet.

-                          When the value of PH is 6.5 it is very low and it is normal in range

2) TESTING CHLORIDE:

-     Chloride is a substance which is used to measures the level of chloride           

    Present in your blood and urine.

-   Chloride is of the most important electrolytes in the blood.

-  Chloride is used to keep the amount of fluid inside and outside of your cells  

-  It also helps to maintain proper blood volume, blood pressure, and PH value of your body fluids.

- Tests for sodium, potassium and bicarbonate substances are usually done at the same time of a blood test for chloride.

- Thus the process of chloride and other components are demonstrated theatrically to the victims in the slum area. After that chloride test was demonstrated to know then now much percentage content. Water to present in chloride of sample water.

TESTING CHLORIDE CONTENT:

-         Take 20ml of sample water in a glass Jar.

-         Add 5 drops of ‘’C1’’ fluid in it when this process is done there is little drop by drop change in colour of water sample and yellow colour occurs.

-         Add 1ml of C2 fluid with the help of syringe add drop by drop fluid in the water sample where yellow colour is occurred.
