OneMama.org 2014 Updates!

We are growing and expanding in ways that truly are miraculous! Here are just a few of the changes that we started to make in 2014.

We still mostly fund the OneMama.org programs from our economic sustainability programs listed below. The OneMama Collection that many of you purchase all year round and your monthly donations are what pay for our medical supplies, medical staff, and even many of our building upgrades on the ground in Uganda. We make very little go a long way, and I could not be prouder of the community, directors, and all those who have stepped up and started to take action to BE the change in the world.

We really are all ONE Mama to each other and this is our living example.

The OneMama Clinic

The OneMama Clinic is as busy as ever! We remain the only government endorsed health clinic with a traditional midwife at its core in Uganda. As word of mouth spreads, our team of 6 directors, 2 onsite nurses, and traditional midwife Mama Jamira service a growing client base.

We are excited to announce The OneMama Clinic will be expanding health services! In addition to our existing malaria prevention partnership with Soft Power Health, OneMama will be partnering with other organizations to add new family planning services, dentistry, and host a monthly surgical team for onsite operations.

Congratulations to our OneMama Board of Directors in Uganda for paving a sustainable future for our pilot clinic with these new partnerships!

Siobhan is preparing for another trip to Africa this June-July to take these expansive partnerships to the next level. This is why we need your donations and pledges more than ever!

Dear OneMama Action Heroes:

Because of YOU!…..

This last year has been one of the best years for the OneMama Organization since its inception in 2008 and it is a very grateful thank you to all of our donors, supporters, volunteers and all OneMama Action Heroes. We coined the term “OneMama Action Hero” because we understand the incredible sacrifice needed to make the OneMama Organization succeed and to be a part of this immense global movement to eliminate the poverty statistic with a universal impact.

So what does it mean to be a OneMama Action Hero?..................    It means many things: dedication, the fight for joy, the ability to continue moving forward no matter how difficult the sacrifice may seem at times, the ability to take your fears and transmute them into positive energy. It means to care for the children of the earth – as if each were our only child, take action to end injustice and defend innocence, fight for joy in our lives and the lives of others, extend a hand respectfully to those in need, allow others to reach out to us – and teach us all how to gratefully receive, and to guard our precious planet.........It’s because of this immense proclamation from supporters, donors, volunteers and all to being OneMama Action Heroes that we have been able to do grow so much in 2012/2013!

Here are some of the many things that we are working on now to finish the OneMama Pilot Program in Uganda and, ultimately, will lead us to our goal to build 250 OneMama clinics around the world in rural impoverished communities over the next decade:

We have begun in 2014 developing new dynamic partnerships that focus on the OneMama and ShaBoom Products social enterprise's to fund our future. We have been able to further establish these relationship and elevate them to new levels which will create opportunities to achieve our goals like never before.

Our development of OneMama partnerships are creating a new kind of manufacturing of the OneMama Collection Custom made items with other Non-Profit and Social Entrepreneurial organizations. These partners are growing in numbers and our OneMama collection items are gaining rapid popularity and we can’t wait to see how well these NEW products will serve as the long-term funding machine for all OneMama programs around the world!

We also have been developing new distribution channels for the ShaBoom Products line and by end of 2014 will be available in many more forums. These will be formalized and announced later this year.

Not only has our volunteer base grown from US events and programs to international efforts and sheer support for OneMama in Uganda from around the world, but our team of dedicated US Action Heroes has been able to put the OneMama Organization on the forefront of social enterprise from securing future projects to increasing sales of the OneMama Collection which 100% of proceeds benefits the Kirindi community members who made them, ultimately getting one step closer to Kirindi being 100% self-sustainable.

Our next step is to complete the final stages of the OneMama birthing and medical clinics, but also to complete the build out of the OneMama Community Center Pallapa which is one of the final and greatest steps that we can achieve for the pilot program for the community to become 100% self-sustainable by Year 10.

In this year, we are excited to announce another partnership we established that will build a OneMama Library. This will accomany the completion of the OneMama Community Center Pallapa. This is a wonderful contribution from proceeds from the first African Superhero Comic book that just was released from Sila our partner from Kenya. I can’t help but restate that early in my envisioning process for OneMama I claimed that at times I thought that building 250 OneMama clinics would be too difficult to reach. As I look back on what we have accomplished with our first OneMama clinic and how we have evolved, I am even more certain that our goal is attainable.

Thank you for all of your kind support and dedication to being OneMama Action Heroes.

Your donations of time, money and energy allow us to continue to march onward together and change the world!

WE are not THERE yet.. but we ARE MOVING.. PLEASE LETS KEEP the PACE and GIVE TODAY!

Sincerest Blessings, Siobhan Neilland Founder - OneMama USA & OneMama International and ShaBoom Products….

Our first official Global Giving Report is an incredibly immense and emotionally humbling THANK YOU to all of the donors, partners, volunteers and supporters that made the Open Challenge campaign a success so that we could be able to write this thank you today – in honor of you!

What a whirlwind of emotions and strides and great dedication from all of our donors, partners, volunteers and supporters, not only those of you discovered and supported us via Global Giving, but to all of our supporters around the world!

Your incredible generosity and selfless fight for joy has jump started the official planning and securing of resources for the build out of the OneMama Community Center Pallapa! Now that so much of our birthing and medical clinic have been built, our biggest priority for facility development is the completion of the Community Center Pallapa so that OneMama community members have the appropriate means for sustainable business that allows the community members to develop sellable products, improve production efficiency and continue perfecting their trade-craft and agricultural education and skills.

This importance of the Community Center Pallapa is the key for Kirindi Village to become self-sustainable by Year 10. Our goal in the US is to assist in the product line development, securing a viable sourcing plan and vendor relations within Uganda to provide materials needed for constant production for the future, and to provide the appropriate education and equipment needed to fully secure their sustainable business and goods.

In parallel to the development of this Community Center, we are extremely proud to announce the development of a new relationship that will raise funds to develop a OneMama Library onsite in Uganda that will provide the educational materials needed for trade-craft and agricultural education and training. More details about this project will be announced by February 2014 so stay tuned!

As stated so many times before, our global mission is to build 250 OneMama clinics around the world in an effort to eliminate the statistic of those living under $1.25 per day. In doing so, it is our goal to first secure our Pilot Program in Uganda as the model for future clinics whereby partners, volunteers, medical professionals, traditional midwives, and all others affiliated or interested in being affiliated with the program can get the training they need to join to the OneMama movement for the global unity of the opportunity for hope and success.

The development of the pilot program, thus, is incredibly important because it will serve as the permanent and constant training grounds for future clinic affiliates and partners - which in the end will be the direct connection of OneMama program development around the world.

And it starts right here with the completion of the Community Center Pallapa. For this, we thank you!

As a OneMama Elder recently said: “We were never taught to dream this big and we didn’t know how. Until now.” This experience coupled with your support is truly amazing!!

Our sincerest regards and many joyous blessings,

Siobhan Neilland
