Launching new projects in the Feedback Community!

By Camila Camborda | Project Contributor

Dear Supporter,

We have been busy here at Feedback Labs since the 2018 Summit, working with community and network leaders to ensure that listening and acting upon people’s feedback starts with increasing the equity of the feedback field itself. Thanks to your support, we have been able to launch a few exciting projects:

  1. The Core Principles of Constituent Feedback. Recently, we brought the community together to formally define what good feedback means. The resulting principles reflect the notion that people are the best experts in their own lives, and that listening to them effectively means doing so with dignity, inclusivity, responsiveness, and respect for their agency and safety. We are continuing to collect feedback from community members on these Principles and hope to adjust and enhance them over time.
  2. Bringing the conversation to the frontlines: Crash Course in Puerto Rico. Feedback fever has spread beyond DC. We recently wrapped up our first ever Feedback Crash Course in Puerto Rico! The Crash Course was hosted and led by Nuestra Escuela, a local nonprofit that takes a socio-emotional approach to education to increase graduation rates. During the 2-day workshop, Nuestra Escuela employees learned the tools to implement good feedback practices in their work, and we at Feedback Labs learned more about growing the feedback movement through collaboration with local organizations.
  3. Upcoming equity blog series. Equity and dignity are at the center of feedback. In an upcoming blog series, we will explore the intersections of power, voice and respect and how these factors come into play when building feedback loops. In order to best reflect the feedback community, we are seeking authors from across the sector who can offer unique perspectives.

We are grateful for your support and excited to continue working towards a more equitable feedback field. Feedback is a growing movement, and you are an integral part of its success!

With gratitude,

The Feedback Labs Team
