Too often, people who benefit from social services have decisions made about them, instead of with them. At FBL we believe that people are the best experts in their own lives and should be the ones driving the policies and programs affecting them. Our Summits invite feedback pioneers to come and share their stories and strategies for putting people and communities at the forefront of decision-making on projects that affect them. This project seeks to bring more change makers to our Summits.
Integrating feedback from regular people into the development and delivery of services substantially increases how effective those services are and how satisfied people are with them. But many front-line practitioners from smaller organizations don't have the financial means to attend the trainings and conferences that help them improve their feedback practices. They need help getting to feedback gatherings where they can share their experiences and access knowledge, tools and relationships.
Your support will enable front-line practitioners from smaller organizations to share and improve their feedback practices. Supporting this project will enable them to access trainings and conferences offered by Feedback Labs and the broader feedback community, such at the Feedback Summit, Feedback Crash Course and other conferences in the United States and around the world.
The feedback community envisions a world where people are empowered. Healthy feedback loops between people and civil society, government and the private sector is part of that. We envision a world where it's normal to listen to and act on feedback from people. We'll achieve that 'new normal' when a critical mass of practitioners embrace great feedback practices. Helping front-line practitioners share and improve their feedback practices is a step toward that vision.
