Hello, partners and doners!
The Melo Cordeiro Institute (IMC) is happy to announce all the accomplishments we have achieved, due to your support and dedication to our work here in Brazil!
In 2024, we embarked on new fronts to develop our work towards the Ferraz de Vasconcelos community. In the first semester, we started the new 'Novos Rumos' project, which prepares young adolescents who are graduates of Projeto S.E.R., for the workplace, teaching them the tools they need to enter the workforce.
We believe strongly in social-emotional education, but some hard skills are needed to take them out of vulnerability and give the best possible opportunity we can.
Our project covered everything they might need to succeed in their first professional journey, from building their first curriculum, to develop excel skills and presentation techniques. in the first quarter after the project, we had great results, with two new hires, one being in Grupo Melo Cordeiro itself, and small entrepreneurs in the community.
We are thrilled that our students are now embarking on a new phase, contributing to their homes, community and their own lives!
Furthermore, our team saw a new opportunity to start developing minds and lives in another region in Ferraz de Vasconcelos, only 3.1 miles away from S.E.R..
We partnered with "Gerando Falcões (GF)", the biggest NGO in Brazil, to work in Favela dos Sonhos, the first "3D Favela": Digital, Dignified and Developed.
The Favela 3D project started in GF to develop Favelas around Brazil in a new, sistematic way. Favela dos Sonhos was the first territory that embarked on this idea, and two years later, IMC started the socioeducational project in the favela.
With 60 new children assisted, we are now able to multiply our know-how to new people and communities.
Thank you for believing in our mission and for being an essential part of our journey. We are truly happy with the progress of our projects and the impact we are creating together. Even though these may seem like small steps, each accomplishment represents a significant victory for us, and we couldn't be prouder of these achievements.
