Great progress has been made in fundraising for the mums at the Turning Point farm, though not all of it is reflected here on the GlobalGiving page. Several churches in the UK continue to work towards their pledges while two young men cycle a tandem from Woking to Nairobi to raise much needed awareness and funds for the farm. (see the Turning Point blog for more information on their expedition)
As mentioned in the last update we were able to start purchasing the land and building the houses for the families in April. Turning Point's Pastor Shadrack had a long and exhausting 2 months traveling up to Kinangop to oversee the work, now the building is complete and his wife his very happy to have him back!
The mums are making preparations to move to their own plots of land in August once the schools have closed for the holidays. A team from the UK will be running an annual fun day for the children at the farm at the end of July which will surely be a great day to celebrate and share the excitement as it builds towards moving day. We hope that by September all of the mums will have shifted to their new homes. Thank you to all who have contributed towards this life-changing step for the mums.
