The Turning Point Trust

Turning Point is a Christian charity working in the Nairobi slums. Our mission is to demonstrate God's heart for the poor through programmes that relieve poverty, transform lives and restore hope amongst vulnerable children and their families.We offer a holistic range of programmes which provide children with access to education, healthcare and regular meals, in addition to providing them with psycho-social support. We also operate pioneering prevention projects aimed at supporting families.
A quality education for 70 kids in Kibera, Kenya

Holiday Camp for 81 kids from Kenya's Kibera slum
 
Turning Point is taking 81 teens from Nairobi's Kibera slum for a five-day holiday. Help buy a single-mum a farm
 
In December 2011 10 single-mums and between them their 38 children left the dangerous and congested streets of Kibera slum to move to the Turning Point farm in Kinangop. They have since been living on the community farm learning the skills of farming and building up strength. In December 2013 they will be ready to move onto their own piece of land so they can live a life independent of outside support, farming the land, using and selling the produce to provide for their children project reportread updates from the field
Help Ombisa to become a nurse
 
Supporting this project will enable Ombisa to study nursing at Nairobi Hospital. Ombisa's parents passed away when he was young and life as an orphan in Nairobi slums is not easy. Turning Point has supported Ombisa through primary and secondary school, and he has worked hard to receive the grades needed to study nursing. Funding the course is well out of his reach, but with your help, we can help Ombisa study nursing as a first step towards his dreams of becoming a doctor. project reportread updates from the field
Return 35 street-children from Kibera to school

Enable Sylvester to Study Commerce
 
Sylvester is an articulate and intellegent young man who dreams of working in a bank, he's studied hard to get the grades to study a BA in Commerce and the only thing holding him back is the funds. Sylvester is the oldest of four, the family lives in Kibera and his parents are unable to pay his school fees.
