Project Report | Jul 13, 2015
Thank-you so much for your support which will help conquer cancer in Kenya

By Shaira | Founder of Faraja

 Jambo from Kenya,

I am writing to you to share some amazing news - with your help we have raised over £8,193 (plus gift aid) on my persnal sponsorship page. This was the highest which means that I will get a bonus of £1,500.

In the next week I intend to dust off my bike and commence the training plan for my 350km bike ride. Although I know it will be a hard challenge, I also know it is easy compared to the enormous challenges that children and adults face when diagnosed with cancer in Kenya today. I see this first hand every day, and it makes me determined to do something about it.

Over the next few months I plan to keep you updated with more information about Faraja's medical assistance work. How the fundraising is going and details of the people we are helping. I am very excited about this ground breaking and unique project in Kenya - and the difference it will make.

In the meantime if you know of anyone who would still like to contribute my project will remain on the Global Giving page until at least after I have finished my ride. I have another £53,000 to raise to reach my target of £63,000 (Kshs10m). The success of the Spring Challenge has confirmed that it will be possible to reach my target as there are many big hearted people like you.

Thank you so much. For those of you who are celebrating Idd...Idd mubarak to you and your loved ones.

Kind regards Shaira
