A supportive learning environment requires more than classrooms and teachers. For many girls, inadequate access to clean water, sanitation facilities, and proper hygiene resources can make attending school difficult and uncomfortable. Through the Keep Her in School Initiative, F SSIBU Mission Foundation aims to promote healthier, safer, and more dignified school environments for girls in underserved communities.
The School Sanitation & Hygiene Program will support schools and communities to improve access to clean water, functional sanitation facilities, handwashing points, hygiene education, and menstrual-friendly spaces. Particular attention will be given to creating environments where girls can manage their menstruation privately and with dignity without feeling forced to miss school.
With support from you our donors, we can work with schools and communities to identify critical sanitation and hygiene gaps and provide practical solutions. This may include supporting water access, handwashing facilities, hygiene supplies, menstrual-friendly spaces, and awareness sessions for girls, teachers, parents, and community members.
Good sanitation and hygiene can contribute to regular school attendance, greater confidence, improved dignity, and a healthier learning environment. By investing in these basic needs, donors are helping remove barriers that can interrupt a girl’s education.
Your support can help ensure that girls do not have to choose between managing basic hygiene needs and attending school.
