Keep her in school

Since the launch of this program, the trust and partnership of our GlobalGiving donors have enabled us to take the fight against child marriage directly into schools and communities.

Through empowered peer teachers, we are creating safe spaces where children can openly discuss the dangers of early marriage, teenage pregnancy, school dropout, and the loss of future opportunities. But we know that lasting change cannot happen in schools alone.

That is why we are engaging parents directly.

We are bringing parents into conversations about the impact of child marriage and encouraging families to protect education, childhood, and the future of their daughters. By working with both children and parents, we are beginning to challenge deeply rooted practices and create stronger support systems around vulnerable girls.

In communities across Eastern Uganda, where some girls face pregnancy and marriage at just 12 or 13 years of age, this work is urgent.

Your support is helping us move beyond awareness to real community engagement and prevention—giving children a voice and empowering parents to become part of the solution.

For many children in underserved communities across Uganda, studying after sunset has meant relying on dim, smoky, and unsafe kerosene lamps. This simple challenge can become a major barrier to learning, affecting concentration, health, and the ability to complete homework.

Through our Kerosene Lamp to Solar Lamp under this program , we are changing this reality one child at a time.

So far, 30 children have received solar lamps, giving them a safer, cleaner, and more reliable source of light for studying at home. This achievement has only been possible because of the generosity and commitment of our donors and supporters.

We believe that access to light is more than just providing a lamp it is creating an opportunity to learn, dream, and build a better future.

Our vision is much bigger. With continued support, we aim to equip 1,000 children across Uganda with solar lamps, helping them study after dark without depending on kerosene. Every solar lamp placed in a child’s hands represents another opportunity for education, confidence, and hope.
