The future of agriculture depends on young people having the confidence and skills to participate. At F SSIBU Mission Foundation, we are preparing girls to view agriculture as a possible career, livelihood, and pathway to entrepreneurship.
Our farming skills training introduces girls to crop production, poultry farming, garden management, seed selection, farm planning, record keeping, and basic marketing. Through practical activities, girls learn how agricultural production can be transformed into household food and income.
We also involve families because girls need supportive environments in which to practice and develop their skills. Parents and caregivers are encouraged to recognize the potential of girls and support their participation in productive activities.
For girls who have experienced poverty, school interruption, or limited economic opportunities, agricultural skills can provide an additional pathway toward independence. A girl who understands farming and enterprise can begin small and gradually expand as her knowledge and resources grow.
Donors can help make this possible by supporting training sessions, demonstration plots, seeds, poultry projects, tools, mentorship, and entrepreneurship education.
We are not only teaching girls how to grow crops. We are helping them develop confidence, responsibility, planning skills, and an understanding of how livelihoods are built.
Our vision is to see young women become producers, entrepreneurs, employers, and positive examples within their communities.
When a donor invests in a girl’s skills, the impact can extend beyond one individual. Her knowledge can strengthen her future household and inspire others.
Together, we can help girls cultivate opportunities that last for generations.
